When the day begins with challenges in personal daily details or just the world at large, I am reminded that all is not lost as I listen to the lyrics of Matthew West "Mended" I can choose to be fearful and emotionally spin....stuck on the flaw instead of the fix......or I can reach for my true purpose and participate in creating beauty from ashes. Today I choose to savor the radiant colors of vibrant health in food I am blessed to consume.
So....fresh mint growing out of a bowl on the porch...blended together with fresh berries...... sliced lime, lemon, ginger, apple, and Moringa (super food greater then kale...) sprinkled in with ice & apple cider vinegar. All ingredients pack a powerful punch of nutrients, cleansing, & balancing agents.
I first discovered Moringa on a music trip to Costa Rica. I watched our host family use throughout their daily menu. I know this opportunity bestowed on me was not random.....to experiment with the fresh leaves, dried, made into smoothies, vegies, pancakes, or sprinkled on our meats as we would Italian herbs or salt. Blended into smoothies with a sprinkle of Chi...which leads me to the here and now thankful for the teachable moment and memory. Who knew back then in 2013.. I was learning to use one of natures amazing super foods..!
1) Turn the switch to "Thankful/Grateful"
2) Reach out and touch another person...in other words get my mind off myself
3) Get up & out..seek out fresh air, natural water, breathe long and deep from the gift of nature.
4) Pray, Meditate, Focus
5) Refuse to allow the negative to engulf me
6) Talk myself back... " Fails do not make you a Failure; Having lost does not make you a Loser..."
7) Move back on track
So what I share is the beach break...chill out moments where I remember my daughter so many years ago...her little husky voice..."Its a ..booful day" Seems like a "booful day to honor her and redirect my emotional steps.

2 x's when nearly complete.. but there is always more then one way to accomplish a task!! Problems may seem to overwhelm our plans...worship is the cure to a downcast and discouraged spirit...
Leaving behind fear.. Committing to God's faithfulness.. Trusting in His outcome as a "booful" gift
for ongoing discovery of my life purpose.
My routine has evolved through the years....I am still deciding what seems most comfortable...? Specific scheduled routine tasks or flexible combinations of disciplines....
I remember well the days of early morning breakfast ..rushing to meet the school bus while braving winter cold. Making sure deadlines were met was a daily challenge for everyone. Even more so for 6:30am drivers education or jazz choir rehearsal.
Now my kiddos are actively immersed in fulltime "adulting" ..the actual morning discipline has morphed to include a strong health focus with exercise, food preparation, responsible business practices, community service, & family connection.
The goal is simplicity...so I share a few of my favorites: the massage ball works out sore muscles and knots from long ago automobile accident, or aches and pains from the mileage covered for the day. Because there seems to be some level of addiction....regular bicycle rides are almost daily with amazing comfort on my Townie bike to cover 6-25 miles at a time.
